Therapeutic Horseback Riding for a Veteran

I have passed this beautiful barn for years. After seeing the STAR sign, I finally decided to investigate Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding. Over my years in East Tennessee, I had heard many people talk about "equestrian therapy" and even sing its praises. But I had no idea what this movement was. Once I learned more and watched the attached video, I saw how helpful interacting with houses in a safe and therapeutic setting can be for the children and veterans who give it a try. This organization even brings their mini-horses to senior homes to cheer up the residents!
